- Will be a member of a cross-functional supplier management group responsible to analytically formulate and execute comprehensive supply management strategies.
- Manage day-to-day activities in support of strategic programs with the supplier base. Interface with Engineering and Purchasing to forecast and execute orders with cleaning vendors, driving lowest cycle time and 100% on-time delivery. Establish business processes internal to Company and with vendors in support of programs to ensure lowest cycle time and cost and best quality. Serve as overall manager and escalation point within Global Operations for all rapid prototyping needs.
- Establish and monitor process metrics for programs, establish root cause analysis and corrective action process for any metrics which fail to meet targets. Document and share best practices with peers supporting other commodities.
- Negotiate and establish agreements with suppliers to support the Clients program in order to qualify all targeted vendors. Monitor vendor compliance to contact terms and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Manage supplier operational performance against expectations to ensure supply continuity, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
- Regularly evaluate performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection
- Continuously work on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control and manufacturing strategies.
- Drive the improvement of supplier’s manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate on the continuous development of supply base through close teamwork with product management, global product group, and supplier engineers.
- Coordinate early supplier involvement in a new products parts design using the supplier’s expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability.
- Expected to have knowledge of supply chain management business processes and proper governance controls for factory management
- Work closely with suppliers on capacity planning and cost negotiations.
- Responsible for the development of a strategic commodity plan. Support and continually update process development activities to management to ensure alignment of cleaning activities and priorities.
