Sr. PCB Design Engineer

Orbit & Skyline is looking forward to onboarding an Sr. Electronics/PCB Design Engineer with expertise in designing of minimum 6 to 8 layers PCBs using PCAD/Cadence Allegro and various peripherals interfacing e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, and Ethernet.
The candidate will be part of a team assisting in the delivery of efficient engineering support and solutions to customers while also contributing to the development of Indian semiconductor ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

Work on electronics components obsolescence to qualify form, fit and functional replacements.

  • Design and develop PCBs to be used on Semiconductor equipment’s.
    o All new design must be of high quality.
    o PCB designs must comply with manufacturability and serviceability guidelines and best-known methods.
  • Review designs and provide recommendations with respect to manufacturability and serviceability.
  • Release documentation, PCB files, BOM in the PLM system
  • Work with suppliers to address any questions and build verification
  • End to end ownership: Work collaboratively with the cross-functional team comprising mechanical, software, system and process engineering (in different geographies) to develop and qualify engineering solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews to present the design throughout the different phases of design and development.
  • Perform FMEA and provide mitigation strategies to eliminate risks.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Electronics engineering.
  • Relevant experience should be more than 5 years.
  • Master’s degree (Business/Engineering) will be preferred.
    Mandatory Skills:
  • Expertise in designing minimum 8 layers PCBs using Cadence Allegro.
    o Must be able to drive the PCBs end to end (Circuit design→ Component selection→ Schematic→ board layout)
  • Must be well versed with industry standards such as IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) standards for PCB design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Communication/IP protocols, Bus architecture, and I/O interface.
  • Good understanding of the electronics components; and must be able to select and recommend components depending upon application and circuit requirements.
  • Good understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as circuits, signals, and electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC) to design efficient and reliable PCBs.
  • Must have strong decision-making skills and the determination to see projects through to the end.
  • Have skills to identify and manage risk and create mitigation plan.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
    Good to have:
  • Experience in embedded system and firmware development
  • Good understanding of various peripherals E.g. – Sensors/Transducers, UPS, Ethernet switch, temperature controllers, displays, motors, AC-DC convertors, power supplies etc.
